When I put in a cd or dvd into the cd drive Windows Media Center and Windows Media Player both give me the message No dvd or cd found in drive F. Just 2 weeks ago it worked but now I can't listen to music cd or play dvds.
Go to the Device Manager and report back with the status of the drive, either an error code or if it says it is working OK.
Depending on the status will determine the next step.
To access the Device Manager, hold the Windows key down and press the Pause/Break key. The Device Manager can be accessed in the upper left of the screen that comes up.
i have always been able to find it by running Fix it Fix problems with CD or DVD drives that can?t read or write media but i'm hoping for a way to keep from despairing every now and then like it does
