New windows 7 install wont recognize my crypted healthy sata 320gb HDD

I got a new problem.

My fresh windows 7 install on my Samsung EVO SSD works fine, but it does not want to recognize a reattached truecrypted hdd to my system. The HDD does not show under device manager, if I right click on it in explorer it hangs for a minute and then gives me: 0 bytes capacity/0 bytes used description. Truecrypt won't mount it since it cannot find the 1st partition it only sees the device.

I reattached my old sata hdd which still has win7 (exact same windows as installed on my fresh SSD), but now in IDE mode via BIOS. And the truecrypted drive seems fine, so it is not dead. Windows recognizes the disk, it is healthy under disk management, truecrypt sees and can mount it, I can assign a driveletter or remove it and so on.

Why won't my new Windoes 7 install on my new SSD (which has AHCI in BIOS enabled btw not sure if this means a thing) not see my Sata-drive?

No that is assumed wrong. A hdd or other device gets truecrypted, this means it can be read whenever truecrypt is installed on any computer and you have the right password. Windows simply does not recognized the disk. So did truecrypt. Disk management neither.

But it is fixed.

It was the stupid AMD-AHCO driver. I reverted back to the Standard 6 yo. old MSAHCI driver, and now everything is fine. Disk gets mounted by windows and everything. No need to initialize the disk (god forbid your crypted data is on it!) and such, no need for jumpers on the disk (it had one to set 3gb/s to 1.5gbs for older motherboards) that wasn't it.

I still think sevenforums is the most awesome knowledge-laden forums out there. The worst would be tom's hardware my god what a collection of imbeciles!
