hp dv7 3169wm bios not seeing drives.

think my other tread was closed ? but any way, what I have done since my last posting.
have used the mini petition wizard to wipe the hdd with zeros, started clean, have reinstalled the recovery disks, and have tried the windows 7 sp1u as well,I did follow the instruction to the T on the windows site as was instructed.for a clean install with both the rcovery disks and the sp1u.even found a way to go in and manualy set up the sytem, recovery petitions and copy the sp1u to the recovery, I have did everything I can find online to do and have tried, but yet,the bios do not see any drives, hdd or the dvd,but yet they work together.any way, windows will not set up,I know probaly cause the bios do not see the hdd,any ideas, is there a way to flash the bios with out a working os or would that not help any.I am at a loss. when windows tries too set up right when its starts to set up services, there an erro thats says windows unexpectanly rebooted, the sceen flashes once,it reboots and the screen stays black ?only way to get the monitor to light up is to unplug it without the battery, hold down the power button for 40 seconds or so,then power it back up and then it will pick up the monitoe again ??? dont really want to throw this away,I cannot afford to send it to a repar facility to have them look at it, this thing was close to $1000 when it was new , thank you
