How to install RAID10 next to SSD (with OS Win7) on P5K-E motherboard
Hi,
I have big a problem with installing a RAID 10 next to the system Win 7 on SSD on the same motherboard.
Until now, I had a system Win7 Home Premium 64bit installed on a RAID 10. I just purchased a new SSD and today I installed a new system Win7 Professional 32bit on it.
To do this I had to switch in the BIOS operation mode SATA from RAID to AHCI. The Win7 installed correctly on the SSD, but I would also like to use the drives from the old RAID 10 and put new RAID 10 beside SSD - on the same motherboard.
The problem appeared when I tried to install a program to manage RAID arrays (Intel RST) – the program didn’t install giving the message " The program does not support this platform ." Probably the problem is associated with AHCI mode in the BIOS, but I'm not sure about that, this mode is needed to handle the SSD so I can not change it to RAID.
I connected SSD on SATA 5 , slots 1-4 are waiting for RAID but at this point I feel defeated and I don’t know what more I can do.
Can someone give me a hint how to solve this problem or how to install RAID 10 and SSD with Win7, side by side on a single motherboard (ASUS P5K-E), without additional RAID controller inserted in the PCI-E slot . Is such a configuration possible at all ?
Thank you in advance
Regards
Slawek
