Windows 7: No words

No words

I recently took apart my Samsung laptop because the power jack was broken. I realized that it needs to be soldered off and then solder a new one on. Since I did not have the materials and I did not want to forget how to put the laptop back together, I put it together now instead of waiting for the parts. This is the first time I took apart a computer but I followed a few youtube videos and researched it for a few hours. After putting it back together I turned it on (surprisingly the power jack is now working) but no words appear. It says Windows 7 when I turn it on but once I get to my desktop there are no words on the icons, when I click on the start menu nothing shows up, and when I right click on anything the box shows up but without any words. I am thinking that I did not connect something to the computer correctly. Has anyone had this experience or could give me advice on what to do? Thanks!

Alright I fixed the power problem but I am still having issues with the words not showing up. I attached a few pics that show that there are no words under the icons. When I click on the start menu nothing happens. Also, it seems like after a few minutes (or once I try to open fixefox) I get this blue error screen. I tried to also start it in safe mode and did receive a pop up with words explaining safe mode but I still couldnt get anything to open or have words show up anywhere.

Check your memory modules and make sure they are installed properly and completely. That might explain the bluescreen (maybe... but that's something for the BSOD team to look into).

I'm not sure what taking apart a machine would have to do with a loss of text. That's really baffling, but maybe it's a memory thing.
