LG BD-RE drive not showing BD discs

Hi, minor problem with the bd drive, if I insert a disc and try to open it with explorer or powerDVD it fails to open the disc as it can't see it but if I use dvdfab it sees it fine, if have tried a different drive letter uninstalled and reinstalled drivers nothing. When I check in device manager it shows as a cd scsi drive, so not sure why that is.
    Anyone with any ideas, Ta

If it is a copy-protected and region-coded disc, Power DVD may not play if it lacks the required update or region code is different.

DVDFab could play since it gets updated frequently to cater for the new protection algorithms and circumvents region-coding.

That is the only explanation I could think of with the scanty - almost nil :) - information provided by you on that particular disc and your drive.( Does it deal with CDs and DVDs ok?? etc., etc.,)

The SATA LG blu-ray optical drive should display in devise manager as a "DVD/CD-ROM drives" devise if it has the correct driver installed.

It could be copy protection as posted above. Have you altered the region setting in devise manager?

What is the model number of the LG BD-RE drive and what is the disk you're trying?

    Thanks for the reply's,
    Drive is a LG BH16NS40
The only way it would see a disc is via third party software, such as DVDFAB,
No region changes were made and the only disc it would play is a cd, although when i put my windows 7 install disc in it saw that fine?
I finally managed to fix it by unplugging it from the mobo uninstalling drivers and any reg entry's using cccleaner, plugging in a old DVD/CD drive then when that had been seen in windows took that out and plugged the LG drive back in, seems to work fine now

    Thanks again for the reply's

Maybe its driver had been corrupted, but glad you got it fixed.
