USB printer does not appear in Printers and Drivers

Add A printer says it is not for USB printers. There appears to be something in its queue because when I turn that printer off I get a printer dialog box error. I cannot purge the queue because I cannot see it anywhere. The spool folder is empty. I've tried stopping the spool service and turning it back on but that didn't work. There is another printer in Printers and Drivers that refers to that specific printer. I added it because I could not access the original driver/printer.

Win7 DELL Inspiron620. Printer is an Epson Workforce 30. I do have a work force 30 in my printers/drivers and while it refers to the same printer, I cannot delete that queue. One is called Copy(1) and the newer one is Copy(2). Copy(2) is visible on Printers/Drivers but Copy(1) is not. Yet it exists. I would love to delete it.

Is this the first time you tried to use the printer with that PC? The drivers for the printer are dated from 2009. Did you install the drivers before connecting the printer or did you let Windows install the drivers?

The easiest fix is to disconnect the printer then delete the printer from the Devices and Printers window via the control panel. Connect the USB cable then turn the printer on. Let Windows attempt to load the drivers. This can take several minutes.

Thanks! That worked. Had to reboot but it worked. Much appreciated.
