Acer Z3731- using monitor for other products (PS3)

    Hello,

At the back of my all in one desktop ACER Z3731 there is a hdmi port with a lead already plugged into it from the motherboard (I presume). Can I take out the lead and use a games console on it or does it require another device to make it compatible???

I had a look at the ACER documentation for your PC and it's less than pathetic, but a second website with some specifications states that your PC has no screen input

    http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/pcs/1...specifications

    - so how does that explain that HDMI cable that you found?

It doesn't, and I don't think I would try to plug something else into that input if it were me. It might wind up breaking something electronic in the PC, like a video card, etc. Chances are, it really is an input from the motherboard, and hooking a gaming console to it will work. HDMI is HDMI after all, and it should be universal. That being said, there's no telling how ACER has implemented that connector, and you could wind up doing damage to the PC and your games console.

In other words, try it at your own risk. Sorry, but that's the best advice that I can give you.
