I don't see a Policies tab in hardware properties for any drives

    I don't see a Policies tab in hardware properties for any drives


    We recently got a new Dell desktop with Windows 7 and I discovered today there's no Policies tab in the hardware properties dialog for any of the drives, local or removable. In XP and Vista the path is, Right-click a drive>Properties>Hardware>Properties>Policies. Should it be there or does 7 have a different way of handling it? I'm logged in as administrator and have ownership of one of the removable drives I've been working on. Thanks.

    I don't see that tab in Windows 8 either, if that helps.

    Sorry for posting in the wrong category. I wasn't sure which one to use and you might know I'd get the wrong one. lol Good news, I found out you have to use the Device Manager and then it's there. Hope that helps alpha.
