Do you have to have AHCI enabled in the BIOS to utilize the TRIM feature? I'm using IDE myself

I have always enabled AHCI - never changed it since I got the PC 4 years ago.
Why, should I?

I'm not saying that you have to change it...I was just wondering if I did to enable and make use of the TRIM support feature?

I think you should be OK if you use the Intel tool....
As far as the Windows 7 trim feature, I don't know.

I also am using IDE mode as my Adobe CS3 products don't seem to work correctly with AHCI....

It seems that Intel has replicated the problem...however this is no timeline yet on a fix. They acknowledge that this is a top priority.
