    Linksys E3000 firmware

Does any one know where I can download the firmware(1.0.04) for a Linksys E3000 router? The Linksys site does not have it for download. I downloaded firmware from dd-wrt and my router doesn't work.

Have you tried resetting the router?

Your router should have a built-in firmware updater that will check for firmware updates. Have you checked to see if your router does? Most newer routers do have this feature built into its administration web page.

The reset button on the router does not revert back to the original firmware. I downloaded dd-wrt to my router and this changed ever thing.

I do not know what dd-wrt is. Doesn't matter.

The Linksys site has a help chat function. You should log on there and explain your problem and see if they can point you to the original firmware file. They would not post the original firmware on the product website because that would make no sense. They will only post firmware updates.

I have finally reset my router with the DD-WRT web site. This is an enhanced web site to configure your router. Linksys does not have a firmware update for the E3000. Go to the DD-WRT web site and see what you think.

Nolen, to make sure I fully understand what you want...You loaded DD-WRT on your Linksys E3000 router. Now you would like to go back to the stock Linksys firmware. Correct? If so, the latest version for that router is 1.0.0.4. I have not had luck finding the .bin file that is needed to reflash your router. I will keep searching and post a link to the file once I have found it. I'm not sure why linksys doesn't host it anymore Once we find the file you will log into the router and go to the administration tab and select firmware update, you will then select the linksys .bin file and that will put you back to stock. After it successfully flashes you will want to do a 30/30/30 reset (since you flashed DD-WRT i'm sure you know what this is). I will post back soon hopefully.

Nolen! Good news! I was able to find the firmware. Took much searching but it was worth it as I have this router as well, with DD-WRT currently. DD-WRT Forum :: View topic - Linksys OEM firmware needed [Upload All U have Here!] it is post #5 just click the download button.

    Linksys E3000 firmware

Thanks for the download. I tried to use DD-WRT to configure my router to connect with Chromecast. I have found out that Chromecast does not work with a VPN network site. The main router I have is a 2 wire UVerse. That one does not work with Chromecast. I have now had limited success with the Linksys E3000. Thanks for the download file. Before you buy a Chromecast, check to see if your router works with it.
