My HP laptop was not detecting my canon camera; so I searched it and follow the instructions and surprised that "Portable Device" option is missing under Device Manger. I tried the View (Show hidden devices) but it didn't show up. Can any one tell me whats wrong here?
It maybe under imaging devices.. atleast my camera (hd true vision) is under that

Did your Canon camera come with a DVD. Most cameras come with one & you need to run the DVD & install the necessary software. It should then show up in your Device Manager.

Imaging device only contains built-in camera driver. My camera was in picture taking mood, I switched it to picture viewing mood and my laptop detect it automatically.
Though my problem was solved but I don't know why there is "No Portable Device option under Device Manger" and I searched it over the internet and can't find the reason. Thanks anyway.
