Windws Fax & Scan and V.34 Fax Modems
Windows Fax & Scan in XP supported V.34 (Super G3) fax @ 33.6 kbps. That support was dropped in Vista. Was it restored in Windows 7? Nobody I have been able to speak to at Microsoft has been able to answer that question as there is nothing in their support guides to list supported ITU-T standards.
Fax & Scan in Vista also did not support TWAIN drivers for scanners leaving out a huge number of Canon scanner owners. Canon has not stepped up to the plate and offered WIA drivers. Has this been fixed in Windows 7 as well?
I have a Multitech MT5634ZPX-PCI-U Super G3 modem and a Canon CanoScan 4200F scanner so Vista was deadly for me. I am hoping that Windows 7 will fix this.
