Check and report the status of the drive in the device manager. An error code, such as "19" will help in troubleshooting.

Windows Explorer, Tools menu, Folder options, View tab. Is there a check mark in 'Hide empty drives in the Computer folder?

Not sure if that would matter or not.

It would appear the drive either has died or the power connector for the drive (internal) is loose or disconnected. Since this is a laptop, the manual eject (release) button is mechanical and does not require the unit to be powered on.

So,if the power connector for the drive (internal) is loose or disconnected, should i dismount the drive??
    If so,then how??

The first step is to check the internal power connector. Check the Lenovo manual or web site for possible instructions on how to do that.
