PC keeps making the device unplugged sound followed by the device plugged in sound randomly with no real pattern, is there any way of identifying which device it is? Unplugged all of the usb etc so assume its something internal but no idea what.

I would first check all, I say again all connections.
A poor connection of any kind may cause this problem.
Example would be a USB connection not all the way in, speekers, printers, wireless mouse/keyboard dongle (reciever) ect.
Thanks for the reply, I unplugged everything and it still happened, strangely it seems to happen very frequently just after turning the pc on then slows down and stops happening after an hour, very odd.
Does anyone know of a windows log that would record all devices attached/removed?
The only other thing I can think of is to set systems sounds to Windows Default.
Right tick on Desktop and select Personalize/Sounds/Windows Default.
