I meant to give your last post a little nod. That's pretty much what it boils down to.

Still, CPU max memory on a spec sheet is hardly ever the max memory spec in practice.. so this thread was about defining the exceptional issue, rather than giving a solution (as far as I can see, there is no solution without replacing the CPU). Unanswered questions can be more frustrating than the subject itself.
