Yes I have tried numerous mice which all lead to the same problem. This is happening for the same user on two different PC's now lol. I'm thinking there might be something in her profile that's causing this or shes doing something that I'm unaware of that's causing this. That was my first suspicion that the mouse was installing itself but having changed mice from microsoft to dell it doesn't seem to matter what type I use.

Okay I reaching here but it seem like you have tried most everything.

    1. If this person goes to another persons computer can they use that computer and mouse under that other persons user account?
What I'm thinking of is persons static electricity. I warned you I was reaching. It can very greatly from person to person.

If the person can use some other persons user account (log in) then for sure it's down to the User account.

Have you tried installing the drivers under the problem persons account?
I do know it's doesn't make sense but it seem like you have tried every thing else.

Yes I am a little crazy but you have a crazy problem.

Do you use roaming Profiles? (i.e. can she logon any computer with her User Profile?) If so have her logon a known good computer and see what happens. Or You logon to her computer with a different Profile and see what happens?

    This is Puzzling...lol

OK. Microsoft mouse normally, and Dell mouse tried.

    Two ideas:
If you have a powered USB hub you can use, connect the mouse through the powered hub. See if that stops it from installing continuously.

    And/or try this:

    • Delete all the extra mouse drivers except one, then
    • Start > Computer > System Properties (top) > Advanced System Settings (left) > Hardware Tab > Device Installation Settings
    • Under the options, select "Never install driver software from Windows Update"
    • Restart the PC

Lol in Saskatchewan there is a lot of static electricity but it's hard to imagine it just being one user out of 400+. But I truly do appreciate all the help from everybody.

We do use roaming profiles. I have also logged into her machine when the mouse is stuck with my credentials and the mouse is still stuck. Only when I removed the drivers or disable them does it work. When I was troubleshooting her machine yesterday she was logged on another machine and of course the mouse did not freeze up for her. It seems to happen at very random times like every couple weeks. This one is driving me nuts lol.

Good idea! I will look around to see if we have a USB hub somewhere.
