    Gopro/SD card Device not Recognized?

I have a gopro / micro SD card (sandisk ultra plus 64gb) and I have been getting an error message that shows this when I plug it in via USB with the go pro:

Then when I use the adapter for the micro SD card I don't get any error messages; however, it won't recognize it at all.

The error message happens on my desktop computer which is running windows 7. Although, my laptop also runs windows 7 and both the adapter and usb works fine on it.

I have read about compatibility issues with SD cards and computers and I have heard formatting the card may work but I was trying to keep my data that was on it.

Additional notes: The device shows up as "Unkown Device" in device manager with and exclamation mark. Though I have already tried uninstalling and restarting my computer.

    I appreciate the help!

Alright, I think I solved it. It was the USB ports in front of my tower that seemed to throw the error. That would also explain why the sd card reader wasn't working (its old and both are connected to the same pins on the motherboard).

If I plug the cable into a USB port in the back of the tower it works fine.
I should of mentioned I built the desktop from scratch.

Although the problem isn't completely solved I am able to work off my desktop. If somebody has a any suggestion as to why this error would occur from the ones in the front it would be much appreciate.

    Thanks
