Hard drives randomly spin up every few minutes - RAID 0

    Hello,

I have two internal hardrives running in RAID 0 array that been accelerated with a SSD using Intel rapid storage technology. The two hardrives are set to spin down after 5 minutes in windows power settings. My problem is that they do spin down but after a few minutes of being spun down one will start to spin, then the other (Stagger start) and when the both reach speed the write head clicks then they both spin down again straight after the right head moves. I have already looked in resource monitor and I can't anything trying to access them.

    Any help is much appreciated
    Thanks
    Nathan

    Index Service?

I would try turning off the index service. This will cause longer search times on your computer, but may be the problem. You can always turn it back on.

Windows Search - Turn On or Off

Indexer Backoff - Enable or Disable in Windows 7
