Thanks for helping me, its been a pleasure dealing with you too The Kaspersky Rescue Disk Scan and the Emsisoft one have both found nothing , i guess the next step is whether i decide to do a new build or not which is quite a difficult decision for me - im liking the look of the 4790k though :P

No probs Alan mate just post a thread saying you are thinking of a new build and roughly what you want out of it.
Thing is Intel in my mind have gone way off track really with the Haswell stuff as some of the original builds that used the first series 4 cores including a good mate I have on the forum were simply not up to scratch compared to the Ivy Bridge stuff that preceded it simply through the fact it had over heating problems. My mate went back to an Ivy Bridge after his horrendous experience but now the problems are being sorted I think he will go Haswell again.
(I think they have sorted it out a bit by now with the heat control being on the board rather than the core itself).
By the same token it has annoyed me and lot of others because we did Ivy Bridge builds which is still my main machine and those boards out here are so hard to come by and very expensive at that. So in essence Intel have pushed Haswell in my mind through greed more than anything.
I am not planning to build anything major just yet for myself and am going AMD for my partners build and probably her grandsons build too.
But like I said ask and you will get a lot of advice from the folks who are really into it, plus it does really pay off doing your research thoroughly.
One place I can recommend for advice on RAM is the G Skill forum Welcome to the G.SKILL TECH FORUM a fellow called Tradesman is just the bees knees when it come to matching memory to boards especially if you like G Skill products.
Another item I can recommend are the Corsair and Seasonic PSU's they are in my mind quite the best but you may like to research that as well and come up with something better - though I won't use anything else - like anything really you get what you pay for.
The other thing is you will find that if you are into overclocking Intel do not have an unlocked Haswell yet that is affordable. The other stuff like boards although they can be very expensive have come down in price.
Look forward to seeing you in the forum.

Oh before I go you might like this if the machine stays stable
