External hard disk became NTFS and is now inaccessible.

I had replaced my old internal hard drive with a new one and had put the old one in an enclosure and started using it as an external hard disk. Everything was fine, until some folders became non-accessible, so i looked up on the internet and found out about chkdisk. While performing chkidsk, i had ticked both the options, i.e 'Automatically fix file system errors' and 'Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors'. When the process was completed, the disk became of type NTFS and i can not access it any more. Also, the properties of the disk show that both 'used space' and 'free space' are now 0 bytes. I had around 330 GB of data on that drive. Can it be recovered anyhow ? Please help me.
