looking for a good tool/utility to test my gpu

In looking to test my newly bought GPU I found "3DMark11 1.1.0" to be a good one but not knowing much about such things I thought I'd ask here.
It seems people use such a tool so they can overclock and stuff. That is not why I want to use it. I am more interested in Photoshop than I am in gaming. All I want to do is see if my card is running properly, the way it was meant to, more than anything since I do not see much of a difference between this one and the one I had (R7 instead of R5 and 4 years newer) and perhaps tweak it a little.

GPU-Z to just show you info about the card. 3dmark to push the card and see how it performs under stress. Video memory test to test the GPU memory.
You need to have Photoshop CS6 or newer to take advantage of the features and power of newer GPUs! And make sure you have configured Photoshop to actually use the features of the GPU: Photoshop CC GPU FAQ. If OpenCL acceleration is not enabled there are very small variations IRL between the performance of the GPUs (20% of 1000ms is 0.2 seconds!).
Even with acceleration enabled Photoshop performance depends quite heavily on CPU, RAM and drive speed. Ideally have enough RAM installed to create a RAM drive and use it for the scratch folder.
Just found this benchmark http://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/art...eleration-161/. It's pretty old but illustrates my point of when CPU/RAM/SSD are top notch and not limiting performance the difference between GPUs is minimal.......

Thanks cyanna. OK I will get: GPU-Z, and 3dmark. As to the "Video memory test" what software would this be with?
As to Photoshop yup I do have CS6, and yes I have good ram and the maximum for my computer (12G) as well as already having had the setting according to: Photoshop CC GPU FAQ. My Drive speed is great since it is the Samsung highly rated SSD, My Cpu is Intel i5 (there were 2 or 3 and this was the better one).

GPUz is a good tool to find the specs of the card. A lot can be done with it. Mark 3D is a good tool, but your CPU clock has a lot to do with that score. The score is a combination of CPU and GPU. For a good test of just the card, I like Ungine Heaven (Heaven Benchmark | Unigine: real-time 3D engine (game, simulation, visualization and VR)) . Heaven it a GPU bound test that does not even take your CPU into consideration, only the GPU. So, if you are looking to test your GPU, Heaven is what I use. Furmark is recommended by some people. It is GPU bound also, but it is also extremely brutal with your card. Heaven will push your card as hard as it will go, but is not brutal and is much more interesting than watching a furry doughnut. The lower links show the results others have received in those benchmarks. But, be aware, the results page, all of those were with heavily overclocked CPUs and GPUs, so you may not want to compare yours to those.

You will see little difference between cards until they are pushed to their limits. Then, if not held back by CPU or ram, the difference will really shine through.

Link for testing the memory on the GPU. The software is pretty old. When you launch it it will warn you of dome limitations, for example it will only test the first 1GB of RAM, but it also contains documentation on how to remove the limitations.
