    Weird mouse pointer movement

    Hey guys!

I've noticed that my mouse has been acting strangely in the past few days which means that when I turn on my computer and when I'm working with it the mouse pointer moves by itself. I'm not touching the mouse or anything but it is still moving around the screen randomly and clicking stuff. At first I thought this has something to do with the internet but I've noticed this has happened when the computer was connected or disconnected to the internet. It is really annoying cuz when I'm watching a movie or something every random mouse movement and click stops or starts my movie.

Is it a virus or just bad device driver?

My computer is Lenovo X220 Tablet with Intel Core i7, Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I'm also using Avast antivirus.

    Thanks in advance.

    S.

It doesn't matter whether I use wireless Logitech M305 mouse or the mousepad on the tablet. It happens in both examples.

    Swoosh,
I know this sounds strange but this has happened to me. Is anyone in the house using the same brand wireless mouse? My son and I had the same brand/model mouse. His room was close enough that when he moved his it would move mine. Took me the longest time to figure it out. Thought my computer was haunted LOL

The other thing you can try is when using the computer, especially with a mouse, turn off the touch pad. You can do this by pressing Fn+F8 A lot of people will hit the touch pad while typing.

No, nobody is using the same wireless mouse around me. I have to mention that this happens at home, in the office or everywhere else I take my computer. So I don't think it has something to do with others using the same mouse. I will try to disable the touch pad. But what is really strange is that the mouse pointer is moving while I'm standing away from my computer ... therefore I'm sure I'm not touching the pad or the mouse.
