Win 7 will not boot after BIOS updating

    Hello,

Working on a Trenton NTM6900 motherboard, BIOS was updated OS will not boot.
Pre BIOS update is was working fine configured as RAID 1 with two HDD's.:)
After BIOS update system will not boot also after BIOS revert to "old" version.

    I suspect the:
    iaStor = Intel's Raid driver / iaStorV= Window's default Raid driver

Their function is same. allowing the system to run in RAID array.

Any option editing the REGISTRY offline altering the iaStor/iaStoreV values?
    Any other idea?

    Hi

Editing Registry offline or adding drivers offline is not a big deal but i would like to know whether "Windows 7" setup can see your partitions if RAID is enabled. If not, whether it can see the partitions if we provide the RAID driver during setup as per this guide - SATA Driver - Load in Windows 7 or Vista Setup

    Latest "F6" RAID driver : https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...ional&lang=eng

Upgrading your BIOS will not alter your drivers or the registry.

It will alter your BIOS settings. These will return to their default settings after BIOS update.
Hopefully you recorded all your preferred BIOS settings before the flash. You probably need to go back in and change the settings back to your preferred settings.

What was said above, you need to go into the bios and reconfigure the RAID.

    BIOS configuration

BIOS was re-verified to have RAID 1 as was before the update, it wasn't changed after to update.
I had used DISKPART to put the relevant partition as ACTIVE and ran the "system repair" with no help.

Start-up repair returned failure: "Problem Signature 07: MissingOSLoader"

Also SFC /SCANNOW will not run while booting from the WIN 7 DVD...

So "Windows 7" install disk can recognize your drive without the need of special drivers ?.

What happens when you try to normally boot ? ( black screen, blue screen , restart after displaying Windows logo etc ).

Instead of booting directly, please press F8 and select "Disable Automatic Restart on System Failure" and then boot. Now Windows will stall at blue screen. Either notify and post the bug check code or take a screen shot and upload with next reply.

In bios is your sata controller set to Raid? Usually a bios update will set everything back to default settings.

This would indicate that there is a hardware problem. The part of the Windows startup that has a black background and "Starting Windows" is where the OS is initializing hardware and loading drivers.

Again, there is nothing about a BIOS flash that will change anything on your hard drive - the OS, installed drivers - these would be unaffected.

So it remains that there is something changed in your BIOS settings from the way it was before your flash. In this case I suspect a device has been activated that was not before.

One thing we see a lot here is folks that do a lot of potential repairs for some original problem before they come here. So sometimes a relatively simple problem and solution can become complicated because of the thrashing about and not mentioning everything they did.
