Unable to mirror all but last partition on drive
Hi all,
I'm coming across a very strange problem with Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I have two 4TB drives, one with 5 partitions and data, and the other completely empty. Both are dynamics disks.
When I try to mirror most of the partitions, I simply get "The operation failed to complete because the Disk Management console view is not up-to-date. Refresh the view by using the refresh task. If the problem persists close the Disk Management console, then restart Disk Management or restart the computer."
Obviously, I have restarted both disk management and the computer without any improvement.
I tried using diskpart to do the same operation and it gave me this:
DISKPART> add disk 1
Virtual Disk Service error:
The disk's extent information is corrupted.
DiskPart has referenced an object which is not up-to-date.
Refresh the object by using the RESCAN command.
If the problem persists exit DiskPart, then restart DiskPart or restart the
computer.
For some reason, when I try to mirror the last partition on the drive, it works fine and starts syncing.
Surely Windows 7 supports mirroring multiple partitions on the same drive?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
