Win 7 Won't Recognize Blu Ray (But does everything else)

I have an LG blu ray burner in my new build. It seems to do everything but one, open blu ray discs. It doesn't seem to recognize them. It will open regular dvd's, and burn them, but not blu rays. I might think the problem is with the burner, except that I also have a usb Samsung blu ray burner that does the same thing. I's used several different programs, vlc media player, dap player, pol player. None work. Does anyone have any idea what causes this?

Hi Richard and welcome to Seven Forums. There is no built in support for Blu Ray Disc Playback or burning in Windows. You need a burner such as Nero, Imageburn and a player such as Cyberlink or Arcsoft Blu ray players. Google for these Blu Ray players.

Hello and welcome Richard mate what drivers have you installed for those opticals?

If we knew what the models were it would be handy.
to find exact details you can use this - the bottom part and see my pic if for some reason it doesn't show up as a Blu ray device like my one hasn't is maybe something to do with the software - I am off to check mine out as Computer management is saying the same stuff.

Using HW Info

You can test the volts on the PSU with HWInfo HWiNFO, HWiNFO32/64 -Download < download the right bit version andclose the right hand window select Sensors and scroll down to the power sectionwhere you will see what the volts are doing see my pic.

The original right hand window shows themachine running and is handy for that but for looking at the components in some detail close it and use themain left hand side panel

FOR OTHER COMPONENTS

Open each + down into the componentitself and then click on it - in theright hand side will appear all sorts of details including brands speeds andother essential info that device. See pic for example.
