Hard disk not detected properly

Hi..I have made an image of my OS using Macrium software and saved it in external hard disk. Now I'm not able to access the hard disk. The system is reading (not by its regular name) it however it just does not open and asks me to format the disk.

I think its happening because of that image.

Can any one please help I do not want to format the disk as it has lot of imp data.

Thanks in anticipation
Shray

Have you been able to access the data before or is this the first time you tried? What name is the system providing and what is the actual name of the disk? Did you create a boot disk and have you tried to use it?

You may want to try posting on the Macrium forum;

A Macrium image should not do that. I have many Macrium images on a dozen external and internal disks and never saw such a problem.

Can you post a picrure of Disk Management and point us to the disk in question.

Thanks for your help. I fixed it by executing chkdsk in cmd for that drive. So relieved.
