Asus Battery Issues, plugged in not charging.

I have an Asus x54c, windows 7. My battery had signs about needing to be replaced, and I bought a new adapter and kept charging it. Although it did not make much of a difference, it still had some percentage. I now have 0% available, plugged in and charging lol except it really is not charging. Any ideas on how to fix this. I bought it Sep 2012, and I don't want to replace the lapto and tbh not the battery either. Thank you

Can you turn the Laptop off, remove the battery and turn on the laptop with only the power cord connected?

If so, I would say you simply need a new battery. They are fairly cheap, I'd say around 50 or so. When ordering one, you want to make sure you use the model number of the battery and not simply the laptop model (Asus x54c). This information is typically located under the battery or on the battery.

I did turn it on without the battery and it works.

    Mine says X54C-BB31-CB

    Then SN: C7N0AS113254276
    CN:2068

I assume that it is the X54C-BB31-CB I will be looking for. So another fix then getting a new battery. I have the universal adapter but with the tip sometimes I have to move the plug higher or lower to get it charging and now I am worried it will get wrecked and I will have to replace the dc jack again. I will probably get the charger for the asus x54c i got one before but that one got wrecked. Technological stuff always seems to get destroyed for me lol
