Really? Those are in degrees Celsius. I always thought they were high. Not really a huge hit. Perhaps a 2-5 FPS hit if I recall correctly. Those are actually out of my price range. But if going for a 6300 doesn't solve my concern, I'd rather not upgrade at all.
If your temps at load are 50 yeah that's low I idle atm since I have Flux in my water loop(forgot to flush the radiator lol) at around 42, and load at like 63 when rendering. Someone with better experience in amd will have to chime in with chip for chip comparison although I imagine it's way better than what you have now. What's your budget for parts? Pushing at your resolution shouldn't be very hard.
Perhaps CoreTemp is not getting the correct temperatures. Speedfan was reporting it at 60. Water cooling is a lot of maintenance if you ask me. Unless you're going to overclock. Didn't really have a budget in mind except for the processor to be honest.

Core temp should be right and my temps without Flux would be around 28 idle. I plan on draining it soon. To properly do it. You can see a pic of how mine is set up In system specs. How much will the cpu run you, as in where you gonna pick it up?

That's one sweet rig you have man. Well, the processor is going to be 150 dollars on credit. It's from a well known shop here.

I'd say go for it. Idk know how the 6300 cools (95w) but the 8120(120w) was a heat monster so just watch temps depends on your ambient area of course. You might find you need to eventually pick someone like a hyper 212 at some point for it. But judging by your temps I'd say yull be fine. My ambient in summer is like 80F. Also my comp is worth more than my car so priorities are a little diffrent lol.

Sounds like it is a reasonable upgrade then. My board can't take the 8120 so that's out of the question. Hopefully, I'll be able to pick it up soon and install it (without wrecking my heatsync etc.)

It should come with its own heatsink and fan.

Yup. I mean I have very unsturdy hands and little experience in installing processors so I hope I don't make a mistake (like I did on my 775 Core2Duo where I broke my heatsync.)

Just be careful putting it in the socket. And try to make the lever part face towards the top of the case to give you better space down low. Also it seems like it's not to attached when on the top feels loose but if you can't jiggle the bottom your good. What I mean is the lever feels cheap but will hold.

I'll keep that in mind. Hopefully I'll get to replace it within the following weeks. Thanks for all your help. Much appreciated

Sorry for necroposting, but I'm considering the exact same upgrade. Did the FX-6300 work out for you and was it stable? It looks like ASRock has removed it from their list of supported CPUs along with several other FX-series chips. ASRock > N68C-GS FX

[WTA] Installing RAM on N68C-GS FX motherboard
I have this motherboard, and I intend to add 2GB of RAM. My question is, is it possible if I install on both slot, which is DDR2 and DDR3 and utilize the RAM installed from both slot? My PC currently runs AM3 CPU, so I guess it supports the utilization from both slots. Just need a clarification on...

cpubenchmarks.net says that the FX-6300 is better than the i5 3570k
I was just looking at random cpu's in cpubenchmarks.net and found something really interesting. The FX-6300 is 9 ranks and 301 points MORE than the 3570k. I thought that the FX-8350 was the AMD equivalent. Is it just me or is this actually true?...

ASRock A75 Pro4-M or Asrock B75 Pro3-M?
I used the A75 Pro4-M in my current build, but I'm building another for a friend. I'm not sure if I should go with the same board, or use the B75 Pro3-M this time. It's hard to find any reviews on either of these boards. I like the PCIE spacing on the A75 board, but I'd also like to try the...
