    Hello Chrissy,

Can you open a command prompt by going to Start > Search "cmd" > Right-click on CMD and select "Run as administrator"

Then run the command diskpart and then list disk

Then follow the link below to post it here:

What type of drive is it and how is it connected? Is this an external hard drive?

The good thing is, diskpart reports your HD size correctly now we have to find out why its not showing up in Disk Management.

Do you by chance know the exact model of your external drive? Is there any way to try another cable that you know is working? Have you tried other USB slots if in fact thats how you are connecting it?

Well I would say after trying different USB ports, computers and USB cords.. it doesn't look good for your drive and is most likely a hardware failure of some sorts. Since this is an external HDD, its possible that the chip between the HD and the outer USB connection could be bad or the hard drive itself has failed. What this means is you can carefully remove (essentially destroying) the external case and try to plug the drive directly into a Sata connection. Theres a small possibility that your drive is ok and you can simply buy a new external case.

You can try running a diagnostic to see if you get errors:
