    Pendrive Write Protected


    Hi,
    I have a Sandisk cruzer blade 8 gb pendrive, when i used to create a bootable usb using windows iso tool an error occured and its showing write protected while formatting. I have tried almost all the ways to format but nothing worked.Hoping a solution.[IMG][/IMG]

    My Cruzers are write protected, and I think it's done in hardware. Mine have a little OS on them that asks for a password, then unlocks the drive for use. For security reasons, I think that lock/unlock is implemented in hardware. I wasn't able to partition mine either.

    Thumb drives are cheap these days. Just pick up a non secured one to make a bootable drive.

    Do you have u3 on that drive if so look at this to remove it and make it a "dumb" drive. http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/de...er/r_id/101834
