I have the following question. I would need to find out the I/O address of a LPT port. I have a parrallel-to-usb adapter. However, in the device manager there is no resource tab, where the I/O address is typically listed. Are there any other options to find out the I/O address?

Hi Lisa, welcome to the forums.
To find your parallel port, open the Start menu, and in the search box type "msconfig" (no quotes) and press enter. The msconfig menu box will open. Choose the tab called "Tools" and select "System Information", click "Launch"
Another window will open. On the left hand navigation pane, click on "Hardware Resources", then on "IO". The screen will say that it's refreshing information and then the right hand pane will display all of the IO devices in your PC, with the addresses on the left hand side of the pane. Scroll down until you find the parallel port adapter, and you'll have your address.
Note: Ignore the leading zeros. My PC shows my parallel port at 000000C000. Normally it's expressed as $C000 in most software, or resource screens.

I use the same method and get the parrallel port details as follows:
Resource: 0x0000D100-0x0000D103
Device: PCI Express-PARALLEL (LPT3)
Please let me know my parallel port number.
