    Intel CPU test

I don't know if I am in the right area but it seems appropriate. I was looking for some CPU testing software and came across this one I have not seen before.

I just want to find out if anyone has experience in using this diagnostic tool because I don't want to try it or advise it because it includes a stress test and I am not really familiar with that stuff yet.

I use it on the gen 1,2 & 3 processors. It works well for me.
I haven't used it on a Haswell (and hope I don't need t buy one).

Thanks MJF I might just try it out on my test machine first as a thread I am on now I think involves one of the older Intel CPU's and I don't want to say go ahead and do it and mess the machine up for the OP. I am only thinking to test it because the machine is not right and very slow and I have a suspicion that it has RAM or CPU throughput problems - am awaiting the memtest report now.

The link you have is bad. If you are referring to the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool, I've used it. I had a problem, getting WHEA errors on CPU2 and 3 on my i7 3770 CPU and BCC 124 BSOD halts. I ran the Intel Processor Diagnostic tool, several times and it all passed. Ultimately as it turned out the CPU was bad, replaced the CPU (after replacing motherboard and other parts) and resolved the problem. I got an RMA from Intel for the CPU and now waiting a replacement.

Here is where I found it on the Intel site. Processors — What is the Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool?

Hello Jack yes mate that is the diagnostic test I was referring to and my link if I am not badly mistaken is the link I get from yours for the 64bit test.
I used your link then onto the 64bit test and that is the same link?

    I ran it just yesterday.

The default test takes about 5 minutes. It validates the CPU and runs a series of basic tests, including graphics (rotating the screen image) and a 3 minute stress test to run temps up a bit. You just get a "pass" or "fail" grade.

You can do additional tests via a menu---check your warranty, quick test, and the "Intel Burn Test", which some overclockers use to generate an extreme load and evaluate stability.
