    HP Color Laserjet 2500 Windows 7 Network Install


    Hello All,
    I have been trying to install my old HP Color laserjet 2500 on my new Windows 7 machine without any success. The printer is connected to a server that my system connects to via a workgroup, not a domain network. I have tried both the post script driver and the pcl6 driver found at the link below.

    Regardless of what driver I try, I get the message "No driver found. Windows cannot find a driver for the HP Color Laserjet PCL6 on the network. To locate one manually click ok, otherwise click cancel and consult your network administrator".

    When I click ok, I navigate to the driver folder and click on prnhp001.inf which is the file the system seems to be looking for in the locate file dialog box. Then i get the error message "Windows cannot locate a suitable printer driver. Contact you administrator......"

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    My first question in such printer situations is whether the version of Windows is 32-bit or 64-bit. Your link goes to the 64-bit page on HP.

    Correct. I am running 64-bit Windows 7. The printer works flawlessly with the other XP computers in the workgroup.

I used the Vista driver on my Win 7 machine. The printer does work, but sometimes I have to actually shut down the PC to get the page to complete printing and eject the sheet. This happens pretty much every time when printing from a networked machine. Does anyone else see this behavior? Thanks...
Color laserjet 2600n driver

Tryed my software no good, worked fine under XP and Vista.Anyone else have problem installing? How did you get it to work I'm frustrated been fighting this since yesterday.:mad: HP has no windows 7 driver for 2600n any help appreciated Bert
