indeed, no point keeping something that might be faulty. either way it will be interesting to see if the new adapter connects at a higher speed.

well it happened 3 days in a row so far, however today the 4th day its stayed connected. the only difference between previous days is different port and that lm not using the stand that came with my older usb adapter. so either it was the port, the 4/5 year old stand or something else entirely and l havent received the disconnect yet :/

Could well be the Port .. Do not suppose the Speed has improved .. You are still going to test with the new Adapter ? ...

might just as well, see how it acts in the laptop.. £8 isnt breaking the bank plus at least l could use the stand on my current one.. tho if it gives me a better link l might just swap. will have to play it by ear.
