tbh, quite a few years back l was a fan of Gigabyte, tho back then l had more hard drives in my system lol, tho then most boards seemed to have plenty of IDE/SATA...

dunno why l went off gigabyte but for a while l always chose Asus boards, but when l saw my current board at under £50 l just had to snap it up, it was the HDMI, DVI and VGA ports that made the decision for me, l can go dual monitor whenever lol. dong get me wrong ld love to have mad graphics but tbh lm not really a gamer if l had the money l might consider playing more games on the PC but tbh l tend to mostly watch anime anways and as long as l can do that lm happy.

tho what l was that just after l purchased the board the price on it went up by over £50, even the exdisplay currently on ebuyer is at £90 (think they ran out of the non-display ones).

You sure got a Bargain .. I have only ever once bought one new Motherboard and that was some years ago .. Can not even remember the Model Number ... Most of my gear comes from schools university's charity shops etc ... The only problem with that is you end up with a lot of rubbish parts .. But hey you can not have it all class goods ..

kinda reminds me of my old collection, back when l was up in wales and was on first name basis with all the local computer shops lol, l prided myself on my discounts lol. one shop l got regular 20% discount on every purchase l made lol.

such a shame he was shafted by the bank tho, a bill fell on a weekend that he didnt know about and then he lost everything.. still keep in contact with the guy on facebook, just wish he lived closer tho ld pay him to do my cable tiding lol. lve seen no one who can match him in keeping a tidy case.. l try but its a bit of a mess around my hard drive area.

I do try to keep every thing tidy .. It does get out of hand some times just not as able as i used to be ... Always say that one Day i will have a total clear out .. But so far that day has never came the reason being i reckon it would cost me more to clear it than keep it ..

lol, lve already got no space as it is and lm collecting again.. tho its not too bad considering l dont have as many contacts.. that said my local computer shop is useless.

first rebuild l had done at it purely for the warranty of any messups.. six months later when l did my annual clean l found out my PSU cables connecting the power inside my system were cut and red tape was used to reattach them.. that coupled with a high pitched wine from the PSU months after the rebuild. lve got pretty good hearing and no one else could hear it but it turns out a capacitor was leaking, a friend of mine was using it and found out when it popped, tho it wasnt too bad as he was just messing around with random parts anyways and needed something to mess around with.

That is the same problem i have here there is really only the one Computer company that sell and do repairs ... And you will not win any prizes for guessing who they are :) About a year ago i bought a DVD player from them asked the sales guy does this play MP4 .. Which he replied it should do so i asked him to get the box as he did not have a clue about it IMO ... When eventually the box arrived it had nothing on it which said it could play MP4 .. He looked at me and said that does not mean it can not play them ... Obviously i was not going to buy some thing which may not so as i wanted .... I gave up after being in the shop for over two hours and could not find one that met my needs ..

back in wales there were three shops.. one was a bit cowboyish tho l will give them their dues they knew what they were doing and did it well.. it was them that l got my first computer from, in fact they also are the reason lm as knowledgeable as l am today.. (that said lve still quite a bit to learn considering anything IT related doesnt stay the same for long) still ld often come out of that shop with things l didnt really need, the guy could sell dirty like it was gold.

the other one was even better and much more shop like, l really like places that have what you want and wont sell you something you dont want, tho his father was a bit of a character could spend hours there listening to the guy talk about nothing like it was interesting rofl.

the last one had a good selection, it just needed better techs :/ still in either case no matter the shop l got more than 10% discount lol.

such a shame tho that most of our current local shops have no clue and cut corners.

so far, lve not had any disconnect/reconnect sounds.. but then it was always hit or miss when l was using my externals. l may start connecting to my front panel to see if it happens there.. as its entirely possible my mouse was the issue. but lm not sure how to explain that a device (namely the mouse) plugged into a rear usb port could be interfered with by disconnecting an external that was plugged in the front or back.

same goes for the wireless annoyance. l kept connection for 3 days after my 3 days in a row of waking up to disconnections.. l think l need to give my system a good few weeks of no annoyances before l can say lve possibly resolved the problem (and l say possibly not to jinx it lol).

(as for the wireless speed, seems it is my router, the current adapters use a single channel my older ones used dual channels if that makes sense, lve still a little more to read to understand but its all about a difference between 20/40mhz lol)

Yes i do understand about the Duel Channel .. And you right do not change any thing let it run and see how things pan out for a week or two ....As for the mouse it would use very little power .. So it is likely to be some thing else ...
