l can relate, going back 5 years my family and l always lived in the sticks, worked within the dairy industry (milking cows lol) until an unfortunate incident we had nothing to do with (the employer decided to accuse us of burglary of their on site farm shop and sack us "one day shy of a year" so we couldnt claim unfair dismissal, thats not even the beginning of the issues but l digress).

started on dialup myself, spent 6 years on it before somehow l managed to get ADSL (l was still in my teens back when the pre-reg scheme still ran, and l helped register pre-registrations.. tho l did it in a way l wasnt supposed to :/ l went through the phone book lol l was pretty desperate as everyone else l knew was on broadband), eventually got a 1meg connection which l thought was amazing then l mysteriously ended up with a 2meg upgrade for the price of 1, then got downgraded again when my ISP was bought out, still managed to blag it so l got my speed back without paying extra lol.

either way lve been through every version of ADSL now and l can tell you after being on fibre it will be painful if l have to go back lmao, hell back in 2007 l was on 6meg connection then moved in 08 and was forced back onto a 1meg connection and that was painful XD

been there done that rofl, l did try getting into it until l realised l spent my whole life trying to get away from it. only reason l was around it was because my family worked in the industry and that lodgings came with the job meaning that l never needed to worry about where l was living.

up till 2009 that is when we realised that lumping a house with a job left us homeless if the job was lost. believe me it was total hell for the final month where we were harassed and lived without electric and water as they had cut it off leaving us only a tap in the middle of the farm yard.. must admit l do like living on the outskirts of a town, the internet is much better here and lm less than 2mins walk from tesco and a few fast food outlets while still living in a relatively quiet area, only downside is when the damn kids get hold of something they shouldnt, like 2 weeks back when my dads kawasaki ninja (ZX9R) was parked outside and some little runts thought it would be a great idea to pick up some paint cans someone left out for bin day and throw them around beside it, thankfully the worst of the paint missed it tho there was a few spots on the bikes paintwork which were easy to clean off tho the bike had only been parked up like 10mins before the runts decided to pain the patio magnolia.

ugh PSUs, lol out of my last few builds they have always been the first thing to cause me annoyance. like the high pitched wine then finding the PC shop had taped the power cables together with insulating tape to either shorten them or change the connector to the 12pin one (l can only assume) or the brand new fully modular one l had which decided it wasnt content being just a PSU it wanted to be a helicopter, or at least thats what it sounded like.
