How to make COM port & LPT visible in device manager?

    Hi,
I can't find port (COM&LPT) in device manager.
I just have new ASUS A450 with win7 64 bit.

i've done search in this forum, but nothing help me.
Like "show hidden folder" the com port still didn't show in device manager.
Also see the port setting in BIOS.
In BIOS i don't have an option to enable or disable the port.
Also i've installed the chipset driver.

    What should i do then?

I don't see a com or LPT port listed in the specs for this model. Its rare that current hardware systems have those ports as they have been obsolete for many years.

Ditto. All the Notebooks I've seen in the last several years, and most Desktops, have left off the 9-pin [or 25-pin] Serial COM ports and the 25-pin Parallel/LPT ports. USB connectivity has replaced those ports and also helped reduce weight and size of Notebooks. Also involved is the lack of new printers with the LPT/Parallel port.

    Ohh..is it true?
So what if i have to connect it to com / LPT port?
I stuck to connect my laptop to arduino since i burn my sketch to arduino always have an error "Serial COM PORT 1 not found" which i've read in some arduino forum the problem is in my COM PORT.
there is something to install to make my laptop have COM PORT? or just virtual COM PORT? so that i can connect it with any device that using COM PORT / LPT?

My guess: Virtual Com port. And if so that would be a problem with the driver.
You could try uninstalling the driver and device, and then installing it again.

If the driver is not a Windows 7 driver you may need to install it in Compatibility Mode for whichever operating system the driver is made for.
