USB Code 43 - Please help

I just upgraded to windows 7 and have the following problems.
When ever i put a memory stick into the usb it gives an error that windows does not recognize the device, on further investigation i found the error report to be code 43. I also read some other threads of people seeming to have the same problem and i tried the following. I uninstall ed all usb devices in device manager and restarted the computer. Windows then automatically reinstalled the drivers. Everything was working again and i was happy only to find the next time my computer was restarted i had the same problem again, i tried the uninstalling method again, but as soon as i Inserted a memory stick it gave the error and is now unable to have any function with the usb drives. What is stange though is that is does pick up my mouse in all usb ports but nothing thats seems to have memory. I also thought maby its a Win 7 issue but i have win 7 on three different pc's and only have the problem on the one. Further more i considered that its the bit issue being 64 or 32 bit? If this is the case why did it work at first? Worked fine for a month or so? Please can somebody advise me as this it is really frustrating as i also make use of 3g to access the internet and this pc is useless without usb port working.
    Regards

Ummmmm .... google is your friend. I just entered "usb error code 43" into google and came up with two fixes, the first two items on the returned list. That might be a good place to start. No?

Thank you for your reply srq2625, but yes of course i tried to google this, the one link only tells you to refer to your hardware documentation and the other either is programs that you need to buy with no garantee it will even work or gives possible solutions all of which if already tried as explained above. Thanx anyhow. There has actually been some more development since my last thread. The USB slots started to work again all by themselves, I changed nothing this was however only temporary and soon gave the error again. I now find them randomly switching from working to not working. Very stange. Do you think it can be a virus/spyware of sum sort? If got Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 on it and it is updated, it picks up nothing?

The solution for this problem is very simple.
Just unplug your PC power cable for 30 seconds (on laptop just remove battery for 30 seconds), and restart your PC again. This procedure help to my logitech USB mouse start working again.

    usb error code 43

after searching many sites i ran across one piece of info that made sense to me. I have a brand new computer with windows 7 64 bit. I installed a usb mouse and it worked great....for 2 weeks. then the dreaded unknown device error code 43. The advice that worked was simply to update my bios. Works like a charm now. We will see again in 2 weeks.... :)

    usb error code 43

i have exactly the same problem, my system stopped recognising all usb connections except my printer, the solution for me was to unplug the power as reported in this forum, immediately the usb ports were restored, mine is an old computer but i think the problem is somewhere in windows 7 as it never happened with vista or xp. will wait for the fix to be issued, meanwhile thanks for the unplug power tip.:)

I'm not sure why this fix worked, but I was having the same problem on my laptop. None of the USB ports were working with any device that I plugged in. I was receiving the Error Code 43 in the device manager that said the device had been stopped. The devices did work on my other systems so I knew it was a problem with my laptop. I tried multiple solutions (flashing bios, reloading chipset, uninstalling the USB controllers, etc) and finally decided to reload my OS. I backed up all my data over our network then wiped the hard drive clean and did a fresh installation of Windows 7. The USB error remained persistent even after I reloaded the OS and all of the updated drivers. I decided to take the laptop apart to try to get to the motherboard's battery, but could not get the whole thing apart so I just ended up unplugging the laptop, taking out the battery (not the CMOS battery, but the actual laptop battery), pulling out the RAM and disconnecting the hard drive. I left them out for about 15 minutes then replaced them. When I booted back up the error was gone and all of my USB ports and devices are working!! I'm wondering if pulling out the RAM and the battery reset something. Either way, I hope this works for others.
