Just ordered the cable - I'll let you know if it makes a difference in the resolution.

Right now, I thought I was getting a great screen res -don't know how it can get any better, but it should.

    Thanks Chuck,

One thing I found I had to do was change the resolution to1920 X 1080.

Seems to be easier on the eyes.

So are you running your new 2560-1080 monitor at 1920-1080 ? If so, I guess circular things eg the sidebar clock will be somewhat oval. A display port cable should enable the full res.

    No - running at 2560 X 1080, but at beginning I did go to 1920 X 1080.

No circular images or any deviation in screen - I was just experimenting.

As I said before, the resolution is crystal clear, so I'm curious what the DP cable will do.

Here are pics of the desktop at both Resolutions - nothing curved or distorted.

You know Paul...if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

If you like what you have, then why would you want to spend more money on a dedicated graphics card which would add maybe 100 pixels?

    Chuck,

That's just it - I'm NOT going to buy a card.

All I'm buying is the cable to plug into the Display Port.

Okay. I hope the cable helps you out and you can never have to many cables...

    Thanks Chuck,

I think I made myself and everyone else on this thread a little nuts.

For $11.00, I'll take a chance (of course since I ordered if from Walmart, I can always return it)

Just got the DPI cable and as far as I can tell, there is no difference between this and the HDMI (post 33) connection.

    Hi Chuck,

Yes, it is fine, but no different than it was with the HDMI cable (pic in post 33).
