Monitor connection

I'm thinking of purchasing this monitor --- LG 29UM65 Black 29" 5ms Dual HDMI UltraWide screen LED Backlight LCD Monitor IPS Panel 300 cd/m2 5000000:1 Built-in Speakers - Newegg.com

I have my current monitor connected with a DVI connection.

Would i stick with that option?

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul,

You could stick with that if you wanted, but I would suggest using HDMI if your GPU supports it.

You're welcome, that is a nice monitor...enjoy it!

It really deserves a dedicated graphics card

Just set up the monitor.

The speakers in the monitor are better than the ones I had - and I thought those were fine.

There are so many settings and adjustments, that you need a Masters in Monitors, but I guess it will get easier with time.

When I first turned it on, it said - "no signal but HDMI is connected - press OK to switch to HDMI.

There's no way that I could see to do that, but I finally turned the button on monitor off and on.

That fixed it and I was finally able to get the screen to show Desktop.

Other than the initial hiccups, this monitor is great and I thank both of you again.
