    PS & Motherboard, and processor compatability question


    Hi, I ordered a power supply like this CORSAIR HX Series HX1050 1050W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Corsair CP-9020033-NA Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready - Newegg.com and wanted to make sure it will be compatible with this motherboard which I'm using now? Thanks! :) ASUS Z87-A LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard - Newegg.com I'm also running an i5 4670k processor

    they will all work.

    the corsair hx1050 seems a little powerful unless you are running 3 gpus. and you don't have enough pci-e lanes with that processor anyway.
    500w will suffice for any normal sized system.

    Glad to hear that, I plan to upgrade to an i7-4790k later and a better gpu so I can make use of the 3.0 slot since the grandkids like to play games but I'll never run three of them. I always try to go overkill on every electronic project I can, when funds allow especially with power supplies in my home audio equipment. Thanks! :)

I have just bought Kaspersky Internet Security multi-device from PC World (UK) at a very good price to use on 5 pcs running 7 and8.1. I will be discontinuing use of security essentials / windows defender but would like to keep using Malwarebytes free edition. Will there be any compatability issues?
