No webcam works on computer anymore

Hello,I have a very strange issue with my computer.
I have 2 microsoft lifecam hd 3000,one my dad uses on windows XP and one I used on win7 64 bit till some months ago when it suddenly stopped working .
The microphone works perfectly but I can't get any video either on lifecam(says no camera connected)or on skype/oovoo(stuck in loading camera-blank screen).
i plugged it in my dad's computer and its working perfectly so its not the camera's problem.
Device manager etc says everything is working perfectly.
I can actually get video from the camera on Silverlight Video tab.,but its not working anywhere else.
I plugged in my dad's camera, exactly same problem.Tried everything in the knowledge base, still same issues.Even ran sfc /scannow.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated as I don't know why a non-cheap camera is suddenly not working anymore, and NOR any other camera I plug in.

Hi and welcome to 7F. If you haven't then run the system file checker and you might need to run it 3 times
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Click start, type device manager, click on device manager that appears and click the arrow next to imaging devices amd post a screenshot of it Screenshots and Files - Upload and Post in Seven Forums

I appreciate the advice, after many runs of the sfc tool and completely erasing the drivers from device manager and then reinstalling on every single usb port, the camera is finally working again.

That's good news. I'm glad you have it working again. If you would, please mark this thread as solved.
