It will take time. One just has to wait.
Keep us informed.
do i need to follow the UEFI rules for the bootable flash drive? since i am installing windows 7 64 bit?
"The Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool does not work with UEFI.
To create a 64-bit Windows 7 or Windows 8 UEFI USB flash drive, see:
How to Create a Bootable UEFI USB Flash Drive for Installing Windows 7 and Windows 8"
Edit: Just tryed adding the ISO file i downloaded into the win 7 usb/dvd download tool and it says its not a Valid ISO file...
Your motherboard (Gigabyte X58A-UD3) is to old for UEFI.
Are you saying you can't burn the ISO file you just downloaded to a DVD?
i redownloaded the file.
seems to b working now.
ill keep u posted
This is what I get after I start installing from the USB ..
I have seen that happen when the USB stick is plugged into a USB 3.0 port (blue). Most motherboards, even newer ones, can't recognize USB3 ports at the BIOS level for Windows install.
Plug the stick into a USB 2 port (black) and try it.
Got everything up and running. Thanks for all the help.
Once again this site saves me.
Thank you all
Glad thing worked well for you.
Make yourself a little note that will remind you what TVeblen has posted.
Just because something says it will work with usb III doesn't mean it will.
I have some usb III keyboards that will not work properly in usb III ports but all will work just great in usb II ports. I using fairly new equipment and every thing is up to date. I can't tell you why it is that way, I just have found at times it is.
