Booting displays directories of USB drives -- how to stop?

    Hi,
    I need help with this.

When I boot with Win7 it automatically displays the directories (folder contents) of all my USB drives.
I'd like to know how to "turn this off" so this is not displayed on booting.

I've searched this basic issue and haven't found the solution; so will appreciate your advice very much!
    My regards,
    / Gary E.

Displayed in BIOS or Windows? If you go to control panel, folder options, under the view tab there is a "Restore previous folder windows at logon". If that's checked uncheck it and see if it helps. That's about all I can think of right now without more info on what's actually going on.

    Alpha,
This is a great suggestion and it worked like a charm. While there I went through all the other options for Audio CD's, DVD's, etc and in many cases turned off the relationship to Dropbox and turned on the autoplay with Windows Media Player. It's strange how these things happen. Anyway a very nice fix for even more than the immediate issue.
    My big thanks!!
    Regards,

The default for that should be unchecked, as far as I know anyway. It's weird how that stuff gets turned on sometimes? Glad that all worked out for you.
