ENUWI-G2 vs win7 x64
i have an Encore ENUWI-G2 Encore Electronics, Inc.
i have used it with vista x32 for some time now without problems. well yesterday i installed windows7 x64 and the first hardware i tried to install was the ENUWU-G2, i used the installer on encores site, and the device manager showed that the drivers were installed, but it couldn't detect any networks.
after troubleshooting it it gives me the following message:
"windows could not automatically bind the IP protocol stack to the network adapter"
i tried installing the drivers, and installing them in all the different compatibility modes without success. i later found out that the ENUWI-G2 uses the realtek rtl8187B chipset and i went to the realtek site Realtek
they have more recent vista drivers and also a Windows 7 driver, I've repeated the process but i still get the same error, the windows 7 compatibility center says that it works for 32bit and that more info is coming regarding 64bit
Windows 7 Compatibility Center search results - enuwi-g2
but on new egg many reviewers have reported it working on x64 Windows 7. does anyone have an idea of how to solve the "windows could not automatically bind the IP protocol stack to the network adapter" problem?
