Windows 7: Acer Aspire 4736Z - My 2nd hard drive was gone after repair

There are many things which are not clear from your statements.

To put things on the right track:

1. What was the OS that came installed with on your Acer Aspire 4736Z?

2. Did you or anyone else at anytime install any OS subsequently? ( I don't think Acer would have created another partition on that drive.)

3. When the bootloop problem occurred what was the OS in that system?

4. When it came back to you after ACER rectified the problem, what was the OS? Did they restore it to the factory condition? ( Most likely and in that case you would have lost any partition you or someone else deliberately created afterwards)

5. Why did you "try" to install Windows 7 again if your bootloop problem was resolved?

6. Did you actually install or stopped installation after seeing that you were only presented with just one volume of the whole capacity of your drive? ( Just curious what is that Windows 7 media you have?)

Whatever, you seem to have lost that other partition, when ACER repaired it for you. That would happen if ACER had restored your laptop to the factory condition.

1. It came with Windows 7 Starter.

2. Never did.

3. The bootloop occurred in Windows 7 Ultimate, it was because of the hibernate feature (I only knew the fix after Acer repaired it - Insert a bootable CD then after booting, restart it normally.)

4. The OS was Windows 8, with the 2nd hard drive gone.

5. Because I knew Windows 8 had some compatibility issues on some apps, so I installed Windows 7.

6. I still installed it even when my 2nd drive was gone.

What all you say appears to be junk.

If it came with Windows 7 Starter how did it become Windows 7 Ultimate? Magic??????

And when you gave it to ACER why would they upgrade it to Windows 8?

Whatever, as I said earlier, you have lost that partition. It no longer exists.

Starter was not going so well with the update, It just stays on boot forever so we decided to reinstall it to Ultimate.

I don't even know why, it was not activated though.

Anyway, Thanks for everyone helping me even when I didn't fix my problem.
