Windows 7: eSATA Woe's

eSATA Woe's

My MOBO is an Asus P5N73-AM with an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Processer and 4 gig ram.

I've added a Ultra ULT 40123 Media Dashboard with powered USB hubs, Card Readers, Firewire and eSATA built in. I also have a LaCie triple interface (USB, IEEE1394 and eSATA) external HD.

The external HD works just great when using the USB or Firewire interface. But I just can't get the eSATA interface to work.

I have ACHI selected in bios and the appropriate driver installed. Win 7 boots up just fine under ACHI.

If I plug in the eSATA cable after booting into Win 7, the drive is never recognized. If I reboot with the eSATA connection made, the system freezes at the POST screen. Seems something is still not right in BIOS, but I sure can't see what.

I'm using original Win 7 drivers in all cases other that for the Via Audio drivers.

I'd sure like some answers. Doing a backup via USB or Firewire is a LENGTHY process.

Any Ideas, Brain Trust???

Thanks
