Hard Disk not detected

I have a 500GB Hard Disk. When i formatted it once, I got a warning telling that do not install the OS in this drive or you might loose data. But I had to install it there. No problem occurred after that for a few days, but one day the computer just hanged at start up.

Problem:

First time when I power on the system and start the computer, the hard disk is read in the boot menu but it hangs at Starting Windows. Without switching off main supply, when I restart the computer, the hard disk is not read under the boot menu.

When I plug the same hard disk in a later version of mother board i.e in another computer, each time on Starting Windows I get a Blue Screen. The problem is corrupt OS according to the code that appeared on the Blue Screen.

How to retrieve the data from the hard disk?
Please HELP !

First, you cant install the problem hard drive in another computer and expect it to start Windows. The Windows installation is customized to the PC it was installed on.

You can, however, connect the hard drive as a second drive on another PC already running Windows (or other OS) and look at the files inside. If you can see the files you can copy them to a backup disk to recover them.

As for the original problem, is the problem hard disk recognized as a boot device in BIOS when you start the computer from the OFF condition?

When I start the computer from the off condition the hard drive is read once, but after restarting on hanging it is not detected. For it to appear under boot menu I will have to shut down the power and switch it on again. But it just hangs on starting windows.

I also tried to master slave from another computer. I mastered the working hard disk in the other computer and tried to boot in that hard drive. But the result would be a hang at starting windows again. I removed the not working hard disk and tried to boot in the working hard drive then it would boot.

Result:

Plugging this not working hard drive and setting that as a slave does not work. It just hangs at starting windows again.

Again, you cannot start windows from this drive in another computer. You can only access files. If you can see your files then there are solutions to get it to work on your PC.

No I meant starting windows from the working hard drive in another computer with my NOT WORKING HARD DRIVE plugged in does not boot. The computer just hangs in starting windows.

As I have said before, the problem shown by the blue screen is OS Corruption. How to fix this while my hard drive cannot be read at all?

Not looking good.
What that could mean is that the problem hard drive is electrically bad, so when you connect it to another system it messes up that system too.

Unfortunately, if you cannot get the hard drive to be recognized on another known working desktop PC then the possibility of getting your data off of it using common recovery software is not possible.

Can you hear the drive spinning? Do you hear any clicking coming from it?

I asked because there are multiple ways a hard drive can fail. Two of them are 1) they stop spinning, 2) the heads "crash" - or will not park correctly therefore you hear clicking.
There is a quick fix that sometimes works to accomplish recovering your data if the failure is due to either of those things, so I had to ask.

Did you try starting Windows in Safe Mode? (F8)

Do you have a repair disk?

If I plug in my external harddrive, seagate 1TB, it does connect or at least the sound is heard when it connects. After a few seconds the sound is heard that it is disconnected. In the meantime it is not able to acces it for the simple reason that it does not show up, also not in drive management. Can someone please help me?
