    Monitor replacement for Clevo W150HNM/W170HN

    Hello,

My Clevo W150HNM/W170HN laptop's monitor is headed south. For the past year I have been experiencing occasional cyan-colored pixelation on white areas, which can be corrected by jiggling the monitor. Now in recent weeks it has been flickering on and off, going black or gray or blue or olive drab for several seconds at a time. This occurs over a period of about five minutes, and then it stops and all seems stable, except the cyan pixelation occurs regularly. (I assume the flickering may be happening during a certain temperature range because it usually occurs shortly after startup.)

I have attached the laptop to an external monitor during this behavior and the other monitor does not experience any of the flickering or cyan pixelating.

I have looked for replacement monitors but for whatever reason my google searches for "replacement monitor" only return results for replacement screens. Which I assume is different, correct?

So I'm in need of advice about whether I do in fact need to replace my monitor, where to go to purchase a replacement, and also for any advice and/or instructions (or link to video) showing how I can do this myself.

I'm not including system information because I assume it's not relevant, but I'm happy to do that.

    Thank you,
    Tim

Usually a laptop display is referred to as a screen rather than a monitor. A monitor being a separate device.

What do the screens that you have found look ilke?

Since I've assumed that a screen is just the clear portion of the monitor, that's what I've paid attention to. My recollection of the images I've seen would lead me to believe that if in fact screen = monitor then it's probably the appropriate one.

Can you post the site where you found the replacement?
